History.

It’s history goes back to 1670 when Pedro Valenzuela donated to the shrine of Montserrat 100 Castilians varas of land, located at a place called “La Toma de la Aduana”. In 1800, Jose Torres Patiño, sold the property in the amount of $120 to the main counter Income Snuff of Santa Fe, Don José Antonio Portocarrero (The new owner of the fifth).

After the independence of Colombia, the fifth was bought by the newly independent government as a gift for “El Libertador” Simon Bolívar.

“La Quinta de Bolívar” was the place where “El Libertador” Simon Bolívar stays for 423 days (The place where “El Libertador” Simon Bolívar stays for the longer period of time).
